As we age, many of the key signs of healthy looking skin like firmness and radiance begin to decrease. We start to notice the Loss, thanks to the natural aging process and a lifetime of external aggressors. We develop dark spots and uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, crow’s feet, itchy dry skin, dark circles, puffiness under the eyes, and acne. Let’s talk about our 20s. Where we didn’t too much care what we put on our skin to protect us from the elements. Or the chemicals that were in our soaps, lotions, and definitely make-up. You know, enhancing our beauty not knowing it was hurting more than helping. I am one to have experienced bad skin like the drying and peeling of skin, and acne due to irritation. Now, how about those 30s? With the major milestones in life such as growing family, promotion also comes fatigue, and your eyes are one of the first places to show it. Then you have the 40s on up. When the results of the previous decades start to show up from uneven skin tone and texture to burgeoning wrinkles and dull skin. Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices can help delay natural aging and prevent various skin problems.

The first step to any great skincare regimen is your nutrition. Your skin needs the right balance of nutrients. Eating the right amounts of healthy fat, protein, and vitamin A, C, and E, zinc and selenium.

Healthy fats such as nuts, seeds, avocados, and fish help your skin stay moist, firm, and elastic. It also blocks a chemical that lets skin cancer grow and spread.

Protein helps build amino acid, collagen, keratin, and other proteins to increase the strength, and elasticity of your skin.
Vitamin A, C, and E are antioxidants that protect you from sunburn, help produce collagen, and are anti-inflammatory. So they help prevent skin damage, wrinkles, skin cancer, and sagging of skin.

Zinc helps your skin heal after an injury and Selenium helps protect you from UV rays. In general eating fruits and vegetables are good choices because they have skin-friendly vitamins and other antioxidants.

The second step in any great skincare regimen is what you place on your skin. I found that any products that are used should be mild without a lot of ingredients and fragrances. Well they can have a lot of ingredients as long as they are organic. Those are the ones that work the best. They prevent you from breakouts and irritation like dried and patchy skin. The main products you should look for is a cleanser, exfoliant, and moisturizer. We want to gently remove dirt and impurities leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed. You can also use toners, renewal serum, eye cream to help with tightening, puffy and dark circles, to help keep your skin young looking.

So all in all, keep your skin healthy by eating a healthy diet, and gently taking care of it. Also I would like to voice that stress is also a big part of healthy skin so please, try to manage it.
